Since our wikis are only accessed via passwords, I am wondering where copyright infringement starts and stops. I know on my website, I have to document the source of my free pictures, animations, music, and of any that I pay for. What is the case on the wiki? I like having to do this because teachers and students can easily find sources for building their own sites and papers. Also, I would like to copy some pages out of a book I am reading to have teachers view it. I have purchased the book. Would this be a copyright infringement?
The Iowa Area Education Agencies has an excellent chart that discusses use of copyrighted materials - http://www.aea11.k12.ia.us/tech/BriefNOTESprint.pdf
It discusses the use of copyrighted materials in a school setting and references using copyrighted materials in online projects.
