I have to leave PBWorks to come to this discussion forum site, but I can't find any ready way to return to where I was in in PBWorks. Could the link in PBWorks that brings me here be configured to open this site in a separate window?

Well I am afraid, sidebar where the link is situated is locked and we can't do anything about it, as we have no admistrator privileges. I just use right-click on my mouse to open it in a new tab. Otherwise, if you were the administrator of the page it is quite easy to configure it to open in a separate window, just needs a tick in a box.
