Quizzes and tests online
I think to create some online tests on my PBworks to cech the intermediate knowledge and the level of learning achieved by students; then, according to the test result, I think to see again some issues in a period of consolidation . At last , I'll propose a multiple choice test on the revised content with self-evaluation; quizfaber is a useful tool for this but I do not know if it is integrated into my PBworks page.
see ,for example:

I have used Quia.com for online tests and quizzes. I randomize the ordering of questions and choices and only one question is displayed at a time. This makes it more difficult to cheat.
I have also used WebAssign.net for online tests and homework. WebAssign has a nifty randomization feature for numeric problems, so each student gets a slightly different question.
I think there is no way to completely ELIMINATE cheating though.

Quia.com is a cool site - especially IXL - the math practice site! Thanks for mentioning these resources!
Great sites!
You can always use the quizzes for review and practice rather than graded assessment. I generally grade any work done at home differently than that done in class. (I teach ESL to adults.)
Quizlab, which has been part of the Family Education Network has been an inexpensive solution for creating a wide variety of online quizzes and exams. I am not exactly sure what is happening to it but it is being folded into their MyGradebook product which as a bunch of addtional features (which I have no need for) but I will probably continue my subscription because I have a bunch of quizzes there, and I am also able to adapt quizzes that other teachers have written and published preventing wheel reinventions.
Another possible online test solution is a program that can be downloaded called QuizCreator (for Windows). It allows the creation of a variety of quiz/test types and questions, including pictures, videos, charts, etc. and after the creation of the quiz it apparently turns the test into a Flash Video. Quizzes are graded and data can be collected and examined.(QuizCreator by Wondershare)
For those who teach English (ESL) - there is a very nice and simple cloze test generator. You can create a test on a certain category in some minutes.

For years now, I've used a commercial product called StarQuiz. (it's available for MAC or Windows). It works very well: it will correct and grade multiple choice, true or false, matching or other types of questions and email me the results. One feature that I find useful is that it can randomize the order of questions and order of answers for each question online so that no two quizzes will look the same. You can find out more here.
I posted on my pbworks site a "survey" or sorts that used the google docs we learned about in week 2. I can see how any pre-test or data collecting survey can be used in this regard. I was limited to only 8 items, but sometimes that's all you need to ask in a quickie quiz or short answer response. What I liked best about this data base from google docs is that I could take everybody's answers, all compiled neatly in an excel type of spreadsheet and compare their answers to one another.
You can ask questions that are multiple choice or short response. You form it the way you want in the "survey." I'm going to use it to create my print out of the beginning of the year sheet of student names, phone numbers, parent names, e-mail addresses, etc. that I always keep in my gradebook in case I need to contact them over the weekend or after school hours.
